About the event

The Biodiversity of Our Soil: Springtails from South Africa to Antarctica

Dr Charlene Janion-Scheepers

29 May, 18:30

Have you ever wondered what lives in our soil? Join UCT biologist, Dr Charlene Janion-Scheepers, at the next SmallTalX event at the Franschhoek Theatre to find out! Charlene will be telling us all about springtails (or Collembola), tiny wingless invertebrates which are amongst the most widespread and abundant terrestrial organisms in the world - from mountain to coast, Arctic to Antarctic. Charlene has studied springtails not only in South Africa, but on the sub-Antarctic Islands too. So she is the perfect guide to introducing us to the microscopic world that lives beneath our feet!

Secure your spot at this event for R250, inclusive of a glass of wine, snacks, and a Q&A with the speaker. Booking is essential, as seats are limited! Bookings can be made via the Franschhoek Theatre website at www.franschhoektheatre.co.za.…
