About the event

The Inevitability of the Improbable: Geological Processes from the Berg River to the Falkland Islands

Nick Norman

25 September, Franschhoek Theatre, 18:30

Join geologist and author Nick Norman as he describes two extremely improbable geological phenomena: South Africa's geological claim to the Falkland Islands, and the Drakenstein Prison's claim to the Berg River. Discover the natural history that links the Falkland Islands to South Africa's Eastern Cape coastline, and how a process called 'river capture' altered the course of the Berg River.

Secure your spot at this event for R250, inclusive of a glass of wine, snacks, and a Q&A with the speaker. Booking is essential, as seats are limited! Bookings can be made via the Franschhoek Theatre website at www.franschhoektheatre.co.za. For any queries, email smalltalx.info@gmail.com.
