About the event

What on Earth is going on? Climate change and an invitation to a better future

Dr Saskia van Oosterhout

Weds 27 May, 18:30, Franschhoek Theatre

We constantly hear about climate change: from erratic shifts in local weather patterns to floods and wildfires raging in places as far apart as Canada and Australia. But what does it really mean in terms of our continued existence? How does it affect our lives, our local communities, and our ability to hold our social institutions together? This interactive talk will allow you to explore how your day-to-day decisions determine the near future, and learn how ecology, AI, economics and social justice are all intertwined in the climate crisis.
